The role of ELSA’s is to support children and young people in schools to understand and regulate their own emotions whilst also respecting the feelings of those around them.
Composition of Psytribe’s ELSA Training Course
Our ELSA training course provides six full days of face-to-face training from HCPC registered educational psychologists on aspects of emotional literacy. ELSA trainees are provided with an in-depth study of:-
- Emotional Awareness
- Self Esteem
- Managing difficult emotions
- Social and friendship skills
- Social communications difficulties
- Family break-up
Our ELSA training course is augmented and supported with 6 supervision sessions of 90 minutes each for the trainee ELSA’s delivered monthly over the period of the course in a local group of either primary or secondary ELSA’s. The supervision sessions are delivered via our online training portal. The delegates attending the course may also receive additional individual support from their supervisor, if needed, usually by telephone or email contact.
Trainees will have the opportunity to work with young persons in their setting to develop their emotional literacy skills during the course delivery under the supervision of our experienced psychologists.
